Charley Ellwood - Non-Executive Director

Charley is a driven young leader and a passionate advocate for education and youth-led public policy development. Growing up on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Charley has an extensive background in youth leadership, ranging from advocacy and advisory to executive leadership roles. Today Charley is a second-year university student at the Australian National University studying Politics, Philosophy & Economics, and Public Policy on the C.A.S. Hawker Scholarship and works as a Policy Advisor.

Charley currently serves on the Senior Representative Council of the ANU Students Association, Board of Management of Burgmann College, Youth Advisory Councils of the United States Embassy, and Raise Foundation Australia. Additionally, he conducts research on national security and crisis management; running the Australian Crisis Simulation Summit's Podcast program and is a Coach for the Canberra Grammar School Football Academy. In recognition of his work, Charley has been a recipient of the Alan Rickard Scholarship, the Fadden Leadership Medal, and the Australian Defence Force Long Tan Youth Leadership Medal.

 Charley has joined the ITE board and will sit as a non-executive director, ensuring good organisational governance and compliance, while helping to guide the strategic direction of the organisation. Charley understands the transformative power of education and scholarships and he hopes to use his experience to contribute to the sustainable growth and impactful success of ITE and its programs.
